Husband accused of shooting wife before she drove to Covington McDonald’s for help, police say

A man is in custody after deputies say he shot his wife multiple times before she drove to a Covington McDonald’s for help early Saturday morning. Investigators say the shooting was domestic-related and happened before the victim arrived at the restaurant.

Saturday, Newton County sheriff’s deputies responded to the McDonald’s on Salem Road for a woman with multiple gunshot wounds.
