New Orleans 9-year-old seriously injured in dangerous social media challenge

NOPD Superintendent Anne Kirkpatrick and NOFD chief Roman Nelson shared a video online warning parents of the fire challenge on social media. Nelson and Kirkpatrick said a 9-year-old boy in New Orleans was recently hurt participating in the challenge.

The dangerous challenge involves people setting themselves on fire and filming it for social media, according to the National Library of Medicine.
