Sound Transit to host community forum after Ballard light rail delayed to 2042

Community leaders and Sound Transit CEO Dow Constantine will gather at the National Nordic Museum at 6 p.m. on Monday. The agency admitted on its website that the project is in danger, as it navigates a $34.5 billion funding shortfall.

The extension is delayed until 2042, but hopes to connect Seattle’s Westlake station to new stops at Denny, South Lake Union, Smith Cove, Interbay, and Ballard.
