A magnitude 3.3 earthquake was recorded near Matamata at 2026-10-18 04:06 NZDT, according to European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC). The earthquake was measured at a depth of about 241.1 km. The epicenter was approximately 22 km from Matamata.
