Saudi Arabia airport alert: Riyadh closure extended through October 17

Saudi Arabia airport disruptions continue, with operations at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh suspended through October 17, according to a U.S. security advisory citing Saudi aviation authorities.

King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah and King Fahd International Airport in Dammam remain operational, though some flights face delays and cancellations.

U.S. citizens urged to follow emergency alerts

The advisory reminds U.S. citizens to follow Saudi Civil Defense instructions delivered through mobile emergency alerts.

It warns of potential attacks on airports, airspace closures, flight cancellations and other travel disruptions following recent missile and drone attacks.

U.S. government employees working in Saudi Arabia require special authorization from the Chief of Mission to use any airport in the kingdom.

Travelers are urged to exercise extreme caution and confirm departure status directly with both their airline and airport.
