UPDATE: Tropical Storm Rachel Threatens Baja and California

Tropical Storm Rachel strengthened to maximum sustained winds of 60 mph early Saturday, October 10, as it moved toward northern Baja California and extreme Southern California.
At 2 a.m. PDT, Rachel was moving northeast at 22 mph, according to the National Hurricane Center update. Its sustained winds had increased from 45 mph in the Friday evening update.
The NHC expects Rachel to approach the coast and move ashore in northern Baja California or extreme Southern California on Saturday night, while still at tropical storm strength.
The forecast leaves uncertainty over the precise landfall location along the Mexico–United States border region.
