Nidal Hasan Scheduled for Execution by Firing Squad at Fort Hood on December 3

Former U.S. Army Maj. Nidal Hasan, convicted in the 2009 Fort Hood mass shooting, is scheduled to be executed by firing squad on December 3, 2026, at Fort Hood, Texas.

According to the U.S. Army, the execution is scheduled for 1 p.m. Central Time.

Hasan was convicted in 2013 of killing 13 people and wounding 32 others during the November 5, 2009 attack at Fort Hood.

He has remained on military death row following his conviction and death sentence.

If the execution proceeds as scheduled, it would mark an exceptionally rare use of the death penalty by the U.S. military.

Hasan’s case has remained one of the most prominent military death-penalty cases in modern U.S. history.
