VIDEO – Watch the moment British Airways BA295 lands at Heathrow after emergency
Video shows the moment British Airways flight BA295 touched down safely at London Heathrow after an emergency forced the London-to-Chicago flight to turn back.
The Boeing 777-200ER had declared an emergency over Ireland, squawking 7700 before descending rapidly from cruising altitude to around 9,000 feet.
The aircraft then remained airborne for several hours, flying holding patterns before returning to Heathrow.
Footage of the final approach shows BA295 descending toward the runway and landing safely, bringing the long-running emergency to an end.
The flight had been airborne for nearly five hours before touchdown.
Reports indicated the emergency involved a pressurization issue, although British Airways has not yet released full technical details.
The video captures the aircraft’s safe landing at Heathrow after hours of uncertainty for passengers and those tracking the flight.
