Max Verstappen wins Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia after rain-delayed race

Max Verstappen has won the 2026 Bahrain Grand Prix, which was staged at the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia after being relocated from Bahrain.

The race was delayed by heavy rain and difficult track conditions before eventually getting underway.

Verstappen started from pole position and went on to control the race, navigating changing weather conditions, safety-car periods and shifting strategies.

The victory marks Verstappen’s first Formula 1 win of the 2026 season.

Despite being held in Malaysia, the event retained the official title of the Bahrain Grand Prix.
