Maharashtra and Delhi protests planned for October 4; traffic disruptions expected in Mumbai and New Delhi

Multiple demonstrations and political protests are expected across Maharashtra and New Delhi on Sunday, October 4, with authorities preparing for possible traffic disruptions and increased security.
In Mumbai, Shiv Sena (UBT) and the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) are planning a joint march beginning near Metro Cinema and proceeding toward the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation headquarters. The route was shortened following discussions with Mumbai Police.
In New Delhi, student organizations, political groups and civil society activists have continued demonstrations around Jantar Mantar and Parliament Street. Delhi Police have increased security and previously restricted gatherings in the area, with hundreds of protesters detained during demonstrations over electoral-roll changes and demands involving Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
Additional gatherings have been announced around Parliament Street, India Gate and Jantar Mantar, and commuters should be prepared for possible road restrictions and changes to public transport.
In Pune, recent protests by MPSC aspirants had focused on examination and recruitment issues. However, a previously planned October 2 agitation was suspended after assurances from Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, so any fresh gathering should be confirmed locally before publication.
Authorities are advising motorists and commuters in affected areas to allow additional travel time and monitor local traffic updates.
