Ann Widdecombe murder suspect charged with preparing terrorist acts targeting Nigel Farage

A man accused of murdering former UK minister Ann Widdecombe has been charged with preparing acts of terrorism, including an alleged plot targeting Reform UK leader and MP Nigel Farage, British police said.

Joshua Kerry, 28, of Rotherham, is accused of engaging in conduct in preparation for terrorist acts between May 2024 and July 2026. He is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court.

Kerry had already been charged with the murder of Ann Widdecombe, 78, a former Conservative minister who was found dead at her home in Devon in July. He has not been convicted of either the murder or the terrorism charge.

Counter-terrorism police have been investigating the alleged activity involving Farage as part of a wider inquiry. Authorities have not publicly disclosed the full details of the alleged planned attack.
