More than 20 students evacuated from school bus on Capital Beltway after coolant leak

A school bus carrying dozens of high school students broke down on the Capital Beltway in Montgomery County Friday morning, forcing everyone on board to evacuate because of a coolant leak.

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service (MCFRS) spokesperson Pete Piringer said the bus became disabled on the Outer Loop of Interstate 495 before Rockville Pike due to a maintenance issue.

A backup bus was also on the way to pick them up. Maryland State Police assisted MCFRS at the scene.
