Court hearing for Stark County mother charged after 14-year-old son allegedly fatally shoots girl

The mother of the 14-year-old boy accused of killing a 15-year-old girl at a home in Alliance this summer, will be arraigned in Stark County Court of Common Pleas Friday.

Erin Barker, 47, was indicted on the charge of tampering with evidence.

Alliance police said Barker’s son used her gun to fatally shoot Kennedy Wise around 4:15 p.m. on June 19 at a home in the 600 block of W.

Summit St. According to police, the boy, an acquaintance of the victim, brought the gun to the home.
