Suspending of fuel tax being welcomed by Canadian Taxpayers Federation

Suspending fuel tax

The Canadian Taxpayers Federation is happy to see the UCP government follow through on pausing the fuel tax on gas and diesel.

Official response and confirmed impact

“Yes, this is a big day for Alberta taxpayers,” said Lethbridge-based Alberta director Kris Sims.

“They’re going to be saving some serious money at the pumps. Thirteen, gone, per litre on gasoline and diesel, so, very happy to see this.”

The price for a litre of gas this morning in the Bridge City ranged from a $1.62 to $1.80, but the pause won’t necessarily dictate what stations charge.

The Province has said the fuel tax, for now, is being suspended until the end of December. Suite 220, 410-7th Street South Lethbridge, AB
