Wild horses on U.S. 95-A trigger late-night crash

Crews responded to a vehicle versus horse collision on U.S.

95-A involving multiple wild horses on or near the highway on Thursday night, according to North Lyon Fire.
The crash occurred around 11:30 p.m. on Sept. 30. Upon arrival, crews found a heavily damaged vehicle and two occupants.
Both occupants of the involved vehicle refused medical treatment at the scene.
Authorities say crews worked alongside the Nevada Highway Patrol to secure the scene and temporarily close traffic in both directions while hazards were addressed.
One horse was killed in the collision, and another was severely injured.
Additional horses were also reported in the area, and Wild Horse Connection was contacted to assist.
Authorities say this incident is an important reminder that wild horses are frequently present along roadways throughout our area, particularly during hours of darkness.
