Steven Scholz Named Ascension Seton Male Athlete of the Month

Concordia Texas men's tennis senior Steven "Chase" Scholz has been named the Ascension Seton Male Athlete of the Month for September.

The Ascension Seton Athlete of the Month recognizes one male and one female Concordia Texas student-athlete each month for outstanding performances in competition.

Scholz put together a perfect showing at the Crusader Invitational, hosted by the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton.

He finished the tournament with a 3-0 singles record while not dropping a set across his three matches.

The undefeated weekend continued a strong run for Scholz, who entered his senior season after earning First Team All-SCAC honors and finishing the 2026 spring campaign ranked No.

20 in the West Region.

His performance at the Crusader Invitational gave the Tornados an impressive start to their fall tournament schedule as Scholz went unbeaten against competition from UMHB and Southwestern.
