Des Plaines, Illinois police dashcam shows moments before deadly shooting of man holding hedge trimmer

– Des Plaines police released dashcam video showing the moments leading up to a police shooting that left a man dead.

Earlier this month, police responded to a call for a domestic disturbance. They found Ayham Babidi armed with an unplugged electric hedge trimmer.

The video shows what happened as an officer arrived on scene. An officer told Babidi to show him his hands. The officer then said, "put it down."

Babidi can be heard saying, "I'm not gonna put it down; you put it down." Babidi walks into the street before three gunshots can be heard.
