Highway closed in Socorro County due to bridge flood damage

Highway 60 bridge west of city of Socorro near mile marker 132 is closed until further notice.
Official response and confirmed impact
Officials state the reason for the closure as being due to heavy rainfall and flooding causing severe damage to the embankment supporting a bridge.
A reopening date has not yet been determined, but repair work is expected to begin Thursday, Oct 1st.
