Flydubai flight from Dubai to Israel triggers hijack alert after squawking 7500 over Saudi Arabia

A flydubai flight traveling from Dubai to Israel triggered an aviation security alert after transmitting transponder code 7500 while flying over Saudi Arabia.
The code 7500 is internationally used to indicate unlawful interference with an aircraft, including a possible hijacking situation.
Flight FZ1073, operated by a Boeing 737 MAX 8, had earlier transmitted the general emergency code 7700 before briefly changing to 7500.
The aircraft later switched back to 7700 and was tracked descending toward Tabuk, Saudi Arabia.
The circumstances remain unclear, and there is no confirmed evidence that a hijacking actually occurred.
Authorities and flydubai have not yet publicly explained why the emergency codes were transmitted.
