Gonzales hospital breaks ground on expansion — ‘We are growing with you’

Our Lady of the Lake St. Elizabeth celebrated a ceremonial groundbreaking Sept. 29 for its $59 million hospital expansion in Gonzales.

According to a news release from FMOL Health, the expanded campus along Hwy.

30 near Interstate 10 will create opportunities to provide healthcare services close to home for Ascension Parish residents.

Officials said in the release that the project has an estimated completion set for early 2028.

The expansion represents one of the largest healthcare investments in the parish to date, per the announcement.

"This is a great day for FMOL Health, a great day for Ascension Parish, a great day for Louisiana and a great day for healthcare," FMOL Health President and CEO E.J.

Kuiper said in the release.

"Ascension Parish is the fastest-growing community in Louisiana and with this historic investment, FMOL Health is ensuring the people of this area have access to world-class care close to home."
