Severe storms bring flooding, tornado warnings for Amarillo, Panhandle

A line of severe thunderstorms brought heavy rain, flooding and tornado warnings Tuesday evening in Amarillo and portions of the Panhandle.

The National Weather Service in Amarillo issued a Tornado Warning for north central Randall County, west central Carson County and southeastern Potter County in the Panhandle of Texas until 11 p.m., according to a statement from the weather service.

At 10:07 p.m., a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located over Amarillo, moving northeast at 25 mph.

Radar indicated rotation, but there was no immediate confirmation of a tornado.
