Tornado warning issued for Deaf Smith County, Texas until 8:30 p.m.

The National Weather Service issued a tornado warning for parts of Deaf Smith County, Texas, Tuesday evening.

The warning is in effect until 8:30 p.m. CDT and indicates a radar-detected tornado threat.

Residents in the warned area should take shelter immediately, preferably in a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building, away from windows.

The warning area includes locations near Hereford and Joel in the Texas Panhandle.
