MyChart back online for Luminis patients after cyberattack

Luminis Health has announced that its MyChart patient portal service is back online to manage appointments, prescriptions and providers.

This comes four weeks after the company reported that it had experienced a cyberattack, which took down its systems, including MyChart.

The company says that the system that stores patient records was not affected.

The company also noted in its announcement that, due to using paper records since the incident began, some information like lab or imaging results may not yet be available.

On Sept. 11, a federal lawsuit was filed against Luminis alleging that the health system had failed to “properly secure and safeguard” health information.

The system has tapped legal counsel. Two more patients filed a separate lawsuit Sept. 16. Both suits seek class-action status.
