You might expect the cases to be against the data center developers themselves, but that’s not so.

Instead, each data center case pits citizens against their own local governments.

Each involves a citizen-led “petition” that seeks to place data center issues on the local ballot.

Two of the petitions would allow citizens to vote on whether to prohibit data centers in their communities.
