Heavy rain and flood threats across New Mexico the next few days

Soggy tonight and Tuesday for most of the state, be prepared for steady, long-duration rain showers with isolated heavy downpours.

Warning areas and potential impact

The risk of flooding will start to increase, and with all the clouds and rain showers around on Tuesday, temperatures will only climb into the 50s and 60s.

Flood Watches for all counties of the state remain in effect until Wednesday morning.

Overnight Tuesday night and into Wednesday morning is going to be our main concern with the leftover circulation from Hurricane Polo possibly tracking right over New Mexico.

This will keep skies unsettled with gusty winds and heavy showers.

Wednesday we begin to dry out for a lot of areas and most of the showers that we see will be in Northern and Northeast New Mexico.

The end of the week into the weekend trends drier, which is great news for the first weekend of Balloon Fiesta!
