Monster Category 4 Hurricane Nolo could still strengthen as it churns south Hawaii

Hurricane Nolo has exploded into a monster Category 4 storm as it tracks several hundred miles south of Hawaii and is forecast to clear the island chain after dumping heavy rain on the Big Island during its closest approach.

According to the National Hurricane Center (NHC), Nolo could still strengthen and become a Category 5 hurricane later on Monday as it continues its track over warmer waters, which fuel tropical development.
