Revelstoke business makes Air Canada Best New Restaurants list

There’s no need to travel to Vancouver or another big city to try one of the best new restaurants in Canada.

An Italian eatery in Revelstoke is an Air Canada’s Best New Restaurants finalist.

Alfred’s, on 1st Street W is the only finalist in B.C. outside Vancouver of Victoria.

“Deep in the interior of British Columbia, where the Selkirks rise around a town shaped by powder days and the people who came for ski season and never quite left, downtown Revelstoke has a jewel in Alfred’s.

The cozy, family-style Italian restaurant feels tailor-made for this mountain town” reads the write up on the Air Canada website.

The owners of Alfred’s are Australian transplants Lauren Webster and John Pierce, who came for the mountains and have stayed to build a new life with their young family.

“Alongside them is wildly talented executive chef and co-owner Ivan Blackwell, an unmistakably cool presence behind the pass with a cooking style every bit his own.

Together, they’ve created a seriously accomplished restaurant without losing an ounce of Revelstoke soul,” wrote the Air Canada reviewers.
