Pole strike leaves hundreds without power in Lancaster County

Hundreds are without power after a single-vehicle accident in Ephrata, Lancaster County.

Fire response and evacuations

Emergency dispatchers told News 8 that a car crashed and went through a pole before 10 p.m.

Saturday night at the intersection of Reading Road and Meadow Valley Road.

According to the PPL Outage Map, more than 700 customers are without power in the Ephrata area.

The map said the area is estimated to be restored by 8 a.m. Sunday. One occupant was in the car.

First responders evaluated the driver, but did not transport them to a medical facility. Dispatchers say fire, police and medical personnel are on scene.
