Two women injured in Middletown Quick Chek stabbing; one taken into custody

Two women were injured in a stabbing early Saturday at a Quick Chek gas station, and one of the women was taken into custody after police said she was found with a knife.

Middletown police were called to the Quick Chek at 1 James P. Kelly Way at about 4:41 a.m. for a report of a stabbing.

Officers found a 23-year-old woman outside a vehicle stopped on Route 17M in front of the gas station. She was bleeding heavily from multiple stab wounds.

Officers provided first aid, including applying a tourniquet, and transported the woman to Garnet Health Medical Center in a police vehicle because an Empress Ambulance was not immediately available.
