No. 25 Women’s XC Battles Through Rain at Meadows Challenge

The 25th-ranked Princeton University women's cross country team closed out the rain-soaked Meadows Challenge with an eighth-place finish Saturday morning at the Princeton XC Course.

The Tigers finished with 226 points, eight ahead of ninth-place UConn (234) and four behind seventh-place No. 13 Penn State (222).

Princeton had three individuals place among the top 50 finishers, led by Emma de Jong in 21st at 20:35.8, Hannah Riggins in 34th at 20:45.8 and Anna McNatt in 40th at 20:52.4.

The next group of Tigers was led by Caroline Barton in 66th at 21:17.2, followed by Peyton Leigh in 71st at 21:21.6 and Sofia Lieberman in 77th at 21:25.6.

10 Alabama won the meet, using a first-place finish from Caren Kiplagat (19:21.4) and a third-place showing from Cynthia Jemutai (19:53.3) to score 57 points, 18 ahead of runner-up North Carolina.

Princeton was the highest-finishing Ivy League team, finishing ahead of Columbia (15th) and Cornell (17th). Up Next
