Escaped inmate Tre’veon Jackson appears in Court following multi-agency manhunt

Escaped inmate Tre’von Jackson appeared in court on Thursday, Sept. 24, for the first time since his capture in Marshall, Texas, on Sept. 22.

Arrest and charges

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Louisiana, federal prosecutors filed a criminal complaint on Sept.

17 charging Jackson, 24, with carjacking. Jackson was arrested on the night of Sept. 22 by the U.S. Marshals Service in Marshall, Texas.

If convicted of the federal charge, he faces up to 25 years in federal prison.

Shortly after his escape, Jackson allegedly approached a man outside a hotel in Bossier City, violently assaulted him, and stole his vehicle, says the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

It is further alleged that Jackson then led law enforcement officers on a high-speed chase, with speeds of over 110 miles per hour, before crashing the vehicle and running away on foot.

A multi-agency manhunt followed, and Jackson remained at large for several days until he was finally found and arrested in Marshall.

Charges and court proceedings

According to court documents, Jackson escaped from custody during a medical transport on Sept. 14.
