Multiple firefighters injured while fighting building fire in North Seattle, Washington

At least nine firefighters were injured while responding to a building fire in North Seattle this morning.

Fire response and evacuations

Seattle Fire Department crews responded to a residence along Sand Point Way NE just before 3 a.m. Thursday.

One building occupant, a man in his 50s, was reportedly treated and taken to Harborview Medical Center in stable condition.

SFD shared that during the firefight, there was a “partial collapse of an exterior structure,” reported as a deck.

Nine firefighters reported minor injuries, SFD says, with three taken to Harborview for evaluation.

The Seattle Department of Transportation confirmed at 5 a.m. that the roadways at NE 120th St & Sand Point Way NE had reopened to traffic.
