Wheeling University names Denise Mirasola to vice president post

A long-time area educator is stepping into a new role.

Denise Mirasola, Ed.D., of Weirton, has been announced as the new vice president of enrollment and student affairs at Wheeling University.

Mirasola most recently served as principal of Weirton Elementary School. In her new role, she will oversee the university’s recruitment and student affairs departments.

"Dr. Mirasola brings a wealth of experience that is beneficial to our recruitment and student life efforts.

Making sure our students are successful and engaged in campus life at Wheeling University is one of her top priorities," said Dianna M.

Mirasola said she looks forward to build relationships across the university community, while working to support students and advance the university’s mission.

"I want to help our students feel connected to Wheeling University, support them throughout their college experience, while helping them achieve their academic and career goals.
