He brought a gun to school, Says Teen charged after prosecutors

A teenager was charged Wednesday after prosecutors say he brought a loaded gun to his high school.

He is being held at the St. Louis County Jail on a $50,000 cash-only bond.

According to the prosecutor’s office, Saddler had a loaded gun inside of his backpack as he went through Normandy High School’s metal detectors.

It was at the metal detectors that school authorities found the gun.

“Our School Safety Officers immediately secured the weapon and safely escorted the student away from other students and staff without incident.

School administrators were notified, and officers from the North County Cooperative Police Department responded to the campus.

St. Louis County Prosecutors charged 18-year-old Jayden Saddler with unlawful use of a weapon.

“As part of the established security-screening process for all students entering the buildings, a loaded weapon was discovered in a student’s bag.
