RAF pauses Hawk T1 and T2 operations after Wales crash as both pilots receive medical treatment

The Royal Air Force has temporarily paused Hawk T1 and Hawk T2 operations following the crash of an RAF Hawk T2 aircraft in Anglesey, Wales.

The RAF said both pilots are receiving medical treatment after ejecting from the aircraft shortly before it crashed near RAF Valley.

Their families are being supported following the incident.

The service said the suspension of Hawk operations was introduced as a precautionary measure while investigations into the crash continue.

The aircraft came down after an incident near RAF Valley, with witnesses reporting a loud bang, black smoke and two parachutes in the sky.

The cause of the crash has not yet been determined.
