No injuries reported after I-10 bus crash; passenger arrested, sheriff’s office says

A disturbance on a bus traveling along Interstate 10 near Doña Ana County led to a crash that shut down all lanes of the highway Thursday evening, authorities said.

According to county officials, just before 7 p.m. on Thursday, a passenger allegedly caused a disturbance with the bus driver while the bus was traveling eastbound toward El Paso on Interstate 10 near mile marker 149.

Authorities said the disturbance caused the driver to lose control, and the bus crashed into the median.

The passenger fled the scene on foot but was arrested by the Doña Ana County Sheriff’s Office, which said it arrested one individual allegedly responsible for causing the crash.

Doña Ana County Fire Rescue crews responded to the crash, and no injuries were reported.

However, all lanes on Interstate 10 were closed as a result of the crash, and traffic was being diverted to Las Alturas Drive and Stern Drive.
