Weather Alert Day: Severe storms, high winds and extreme fire danger. Non-thunderstorm wind gusts 50-65 mph. Severe storms after 4pm (isolated) hail and damaging gusts to 75 mph possible. Red Flag Warnings- Fire Danger most of Kansas through 9pm

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – Weather Alert Day today due to the extreme fire concerns, strong wind gusts of near 60, and a few severe storms that may impact parts of central and northern Kansas. At this time, it appears the best chance of hail will occur with storms north of Salina during the late afternoon, but the overall severe threat drops off after 9pm Saturday.
