Massachusetts assisted living fire leaves at least nine people dead and over 30 others hospitalized after a massive blaze tore through the Gabriel House facility in Fall River, officials confirmed.

The deadly fire erupted late Sunday night, triggering a large-scale emergency response. Firefighters rushed to the scene and rescued multiple residents from the burning structure, many of whom suffered from smoke inhalation and other serious injuries.

Emergency medical services transported more than 30 individuals to nearby hospitals. Authorities have not yet released the names of the deceased as they work to notify families.
