At least 2 people killed in small plane crash at airport in Covington, Georgia

COVINGTON, Ga. — 2 people died Saturday night in a small plane crash in Covington, police reported.

According to the Covington Police Department, a single-engine aircraft took off around 11 p.m. from Covington Municipal Airport and then lost communication.

Officers responded on scene after a call came in from the FAA and the downed aircraft was located north of the runway.
