UPDATE: The Wichita Police Department confirmed a 20-year-old was arrested in connection to the deadly shooting

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – The Wichita Police Department has identified the two victims that were killed in a double homicide in east Wichita Saturday morning.

WPD said at around 9:25 a.m. in the 7300 block of East Kellogg, officers responded to a report of a shooting where they found Christopher Harrell, 35, and Natisha Phillips, 35, with gunshot wounds.

Officials said Phillips was pronounced dead at the scene and Harrell was taken to a local hospital where he later died from his injures. Officials also reported a child was uninjured at the scene and was provided medical and phycological resources.

Wichita Police arrested a 20-year-old in connection to the shooting. WPD did not release the name of the suspect, but said that person will face charges of capital murder, child endangerment and felon in possession of a firearm. WPD said they will not identify the suspect until formal charges are filed.
