Suspicious package left at Nelson Police Department; city block cordoned off

Nelson police have closed off a city block due to what they say is a suspicious package dropped off at the department’s parking lot.

Two unknown individuals left the package in the early hours of Sunday, according to a police statement. The 600 block of Stanley Street including sidewalks is now closed so the package can be assessed by the RCMP Explosives Unit.
