Photos: police in Nottingham have formally identified the three victims of yesterday’s attacks
Tributes have poured in for three people knifed to death in Nottingham as the third man was named this morning.
The family of 19-year-old Barnaby Webber described their “complete devastation”, while England Hockey said it is “deeply saddened” by the death of aspiring player Grace Kumar, also 19.
Ian Coates, a school caretaker in his 60s, was also killed and found on a nearby road, with detectives believing his van was stolen to try and run down three other people nearby.
Police said this lunchtime (Wednesday) they were continuing to keep an open mind over the motive, and confirmed they were still working with counter-terrorism investigators to establish what happened.
In a confirmed sequence of events, it also emerged a man matching the suspect’s description tried to gain entry to a nearby care housing complex shortly after Mr Webber and Ms Kumar were killed, but failed to get in.
A 31-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after the deadly rampage and remains in custody this afternoon.
A man injured after being hit by the van also remains in a critical condition.
