Isac Monjaras: suspect arrested in fatal shooting of Wichita man

SEDGWICK COUNTY, Kan. (KAKE) – A man from Wichita has died after being shot in the abdomen near Derby on Sunday.

The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were called to the 3000 block of East 79th Street South around 12:30 a.m. for reports of a shooting. Upon arrival they found 20-year-old Armando Garcia with a gunshot wound. Emergency services took Garcia to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

After investigation, authorities believe the shooting may have been accidental and 21-year-old Isac Monjaras was taken into custody in connection to the shooting.
