video: cargolux Boeing 747 loses part of landing gear during emergency landing
On Sunday evening, a Boeing 747-400 cargo lost part of it’s main landing gear.
The Boeing 747-400 took off from Luxembourg airport to Chicago ORD but pilots informed ATC of a malfunction.
The aircraft (reg. LX-OCV) climbed to 10,000ft then returned to Luxembourg Airport for an emergency landing.
The 23 years old plane formed a heavy landing due to quantity of fuel on board.
On landing, the Cargolux 747-400 performing flight #CV6857 lost part of landing gear.
The runway has to be inspected. Air traffic will resume as soon as the runway is safe.
