Man charged with attempted murder after Sarasota, Florida stabbing

A 19-year-old man faces an attempted second-degree murder charge after a stabbing Saturday night at a Sarasota home, according to the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies were called around 11:06 p.m. Sept. 19 to a home in the 5100 block of Lahaina Drive, according to a sheriff’s office affidavit.

Court records said Yordi David Lopez Fuentes and the victim got into an argument, then took off their belts and hit each other with them.

A woman at the home told deputies Lopez Fuentes looked through kitchen drawers and said he was going to kill the victim, according to the affidavit.
