Massive House Fire in Croydon, London as 60 Firefighters Tackle Blaze

A major fire is ripping through a two-storey detached house on Addiscombe Road in Croydon, London, with dozens of firefighters deployed to the scene.

The London Fire Brigade said eight fire engines and around 60 firefighters were sent to the property after the first emergency call was received at about 4:32 a.m.

Fire crews said the entire house was alight as they worked to bring the blaze under control.

The incident is near the junction of Addiscombe Road and Northampton Road, and residents and motorists have been urged to avoid the area while emergency crews continue their response.

Firefighters from Woodside, Croydon, Forest Hill, Beckenham and surrounding stations are at the scene.

The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
