According to the local administration, chlorine gas leaked from a cylinder after a valve malfunctioned, causing breathing difficulties among several residents in the surrounding area.

People complained of suffocation and difficulty breathing following the leak.

As soon as the incident was reported, authorities advised residents to keep their doors and windows closed as a precautionary measure.

Those who developed more serious symptoms were shifted to nearby hospitals for treatment, while relief and rescue operations continued late into the night.

Emergency teams reached the STP and worked to stop the leakage.

Officials later said that the leaking valve had been sealed and the situation was under control.

Police and administrative teams remained on alert in the area while monitoring the situation.
