Jayden Maiava Throws 5 TDs as No. 14 USC Beats Louisiana 49-30

Jayden Maiava threw five touchdown passes as No. 14 USC defeated Louisiana 49-30 at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, keeping the Trojans unbeaten to start the 2026 season.
Maiava completed 19 of 29 passes for 261 yards, with freshman tight end Mark Bowman catching two touchdown passes and finishing with six receptions for 83 yards.
Freshman receiver Trent Mosley also produced one of the biggest plays of the game, breaking loose for an 86-yard punt-return touchdown shortly before halftime after USC had begun pulling away from Louisiana.
The Trojans scored 21 unanswered points after Louisiana had closed within 14-10 during the second quarter, taking a 28-10 advantage into halftime.
USC finished with 494 total yards, while running back King Miller rushed for 128 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries.
Louisiana quarterback Lunch Winfield kept the Ragin’ Cajuns competitive, throwing for 212 yards and rushing for 91 yards while accounting for three touchdowns.
USC improves to 3-0 and will next travel to face Rutgers as Big Ten play approaches.
