Person shot in the face during robbery near the Hemisfair restrooms

A shooting late Friday night left one man seriously hurt at Civic Park at Hemisfair, and police have a suspect in custody.

Police were called out for a possible robbery near the Hemisfair restrooms at 11:34 p.m.

During the robbery, officers say the suspect shot the victim in the face before running away.

Police were able to quickly gather information and arrested a 19-year-old man near the federal building. The victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
