New Jersey Trucker Faces Charges in Jefferson County After Allegedly Fleeing Rollover Crash, Using Fake ID

A New Jersey man faces charges in Jefferson County after fleeing a tractor-trailer rollover crash and handing troopers a fake license to hide 27 active warrants, according to police.

According to the criminal complaint, PSP DuBois responded around 11:22 p.m. on August 25 to a tractor-trailer rollover crash on Route 219 in Snyder Township, Jefferson County.

Dispatchers informed responding troopers that the truck driver had fled the scene on foot, police reported.

Upon arrival, troopers discovered that the truck was unregistered, uninsured, and lacked required commercial transport credentials, according to the affidavit.

Crash under investigation

State police charged a New Jersey man with giving false identification to law enforcement after he allegedly fled a commercial truck rollover crash and presented a fake Mexican driver’s license to conceal 27 arrest warrants.

DuBois-based State Police charged 45-year-old Carlos Tandazo-Aucancela with one third-degree misdemeanor count of false identification to a law enforcement officer, according to court records.

The charge was filed in Magisterial District Judge David B. Inzana’s office on September 3, court documents show.
